What We Did During the Summer

Fall is officially here! And while we’re very ready for the crisp weather and pumpkin spice lattes, we aren’t ready to forget our accomplishments of the summer.

Here’s just a bit of what we did last summer:
-reinstated benefits under disability policy for client
-obtained dismissal of lender’s appeal in foreclosure for client
-obtained preliminary injunction against nuisance
-reinstated consulting contract for client
-obtained state and federal trademark registrations for clients
-closed residential and commercial real estate transactions for clients
-set up an Employee Stock Option Trust for client

In addition, Bob was inducted into the General Practice Hall of Fame by the North Carolina Bar Association and Elizabeth graduated from Leadership Asheville.

Bob Inducted into General Practice Hall of Fame

Bob Deutsch was inducted into the North Carolina Bar Association’s General Practice on June 23, 2016.

The Hall of Fame, sponsored by the NCBA Solo, Small Firm & General Practice Section, was established in 1989. This year’s induction class brings membership in the Hall of Fame to 153 attorneys.

General Practice Hall of Fame lawyers are general practitioners who are outstanding members of the legal profession whose careers have served as models for lawyers in the general practice of law.

To be eligible for nomination, lawyers much have practiced law for at least 25 years, a significant portion of that time having been devoted to the general practice of law, and must be members in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar and the North Carolina Bar Association, and are living at the time of their selections.

General Practice Hall of Fame lawyers have exhibited throughout their practice the highest standards of ethics and professional competency and have rendered a high level of service to the bar and to their communities.

Asheville Stands With Israel

Please join us at the JCC on Sunday, August 10, 2014 to show our solidarity for the people of Israel.

Micah D. Halpern will provide an informative presentation about the current conditions in Israel.

He lectures frequently, both in the United States and Israel, on issues relating to terror, foreign affairs, Israel and the Middle East, as well as wine history, and popular culture. In 1997, Micah Halpern was appointed Israel columnist for America Online and continues, until today, to write a weekly, now syndicated, column on foreign affairs, the Middle East and terror.

Women of Wisdom Celebration

Last night, Deutsch & Gottschalk sponsored the WNC Chapter of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys Women of Wisdom Celebration honoring women who have been in the practice of law for twenty-five years. Deutsch & Gottschalk’s Elizabeth Newman co-chaired the event and presented the ‘Silver Service Award’ to the honorees.

We send our congrats to the honorees, whose experiences with career, family, non-profit work, professional organizations and creating a healthy work-life balance make them a tremendous resource for those of us following in their footsteps.
